When speaking of the overall mental state of Georgia, the common term Laura and I have been using is "boogery". Technically it isn't a real word but it isn't difficult to determine it's meaning and it fits so well. Both of these pictures represent this phase Georgia's going through.
...at least we hope it's just a phase.
Sometimes it's hard not to laugh when she does this. It starts when she doesn't get her way. For instance, lately she's been requesting a piece of gum every 30 minutes throughout the day. When she's denied she starts out with a resounding "humpf!", then she'll fold her arms in disgust. Usually she'll double down by walking away and sitting down somewhere close by and put her hands on her chin and sulk for 5 minutes or so. Again, it's hard not to laugh when this occurs.
I don't know if we're handling it correctly. We make sure she understands that it isn't the proper way to act. Time outs follow which devolve into even more "boogeryness". Then we just give up and focus out attention on our prized daughter Parker. She's such an angel.
When you think about it we're not doing so bad. Going one for two in baseball is a .500 batting average. Hitting one out of two three-pointers is a .500 field goal shotting percentage from downtown. Both are very respectable results...can't parenting be the same?
Sarcasm aside, while the State of Georgia is experiencing some behavioral turbulence, the forecast for the future is bright and sunny.
